Ali's 26.2 Marathon Miles - Run for WildLife

My Story

When making homemade crackers for the family last Christmas we all had an experience as a surprise inside. Bang! In my cracker although no surprise as I had made them was an entry to run the virtual London Marathon in 2025.

It’s been nearly 3 years since my first and only marathon and I had been thinking about should I could I even run another one as I nudge ever closer to 60. As if getting older wasn’t enough of a challenge but “Mama Mia” here I go again!

But who to fundraise for this time?

I regularly visit the Yorkshire WildLife Park on the outskirts of Doncaster and the Wildfife Foundation is the charity based at the park. Here you can see some of the most beautiful and at risk species and learn how committed the park is working on conservation projects. I have always loved animals and walk miles with my dog Holly every day. I know I will try my hardest to raise much needed funds for their support because I am passionate about polars, love the amur leopards, care about the cheetahs and all the animals that are endangered but they need our help to survive.

I have 2 children and maybe one day there will be grandchildren and I wish for them to be able to see and visit these majestic creatures in a conservation park or in the wild but with climate change and humans destroying their natural habitats, will they? Have we taken for granted that polar bears, leopards and cheetahs for example will always be around?

I've created this fund-raising page to help me support the Foundations work. Your donation however big or small will make a HUGE difference to animals around the world that really need our help.

I may not run as fast as a cheetah but I will be aiming to complete this challenge on the 27th April in 24 hours running 26.2 miles in and around Doncaster for them and other endangered animals around the world.
