Mark and Rebekah TCS London Marathon MyWay 2025
Mark and Rebekah Rixon
My Story
In July 2023 Mark was rushed to hospital. A growth was discovered in his pancreas and skilled surgeons at Kings hospital London removed his pancreas, gall bladder and spleen.
Mark says
"I am now full recovered but my daughter (Rebekah) and I are determined to raise awareness of this horrible disease."
It is the deadliest common cancer. The brutal reality is that diagnosis comes far too late for most people. Half of people die within three months of diagnosis. So, families are left with only hope to hang on to.
But hope is not enough. The disease must be detected sooner.
And it can be.
Thanks to the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK's dedicated team of researchers, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding.
With people running, cheering and raising funds to support this research, together we can save as many lives as runners in this great race.
We will give it our all. We won't give up. Mark and Rebekah will complete the marathon distance and cross that finish line.
