My Story
As a resident of Gillingham in Dorset I regularly hear the air ambulance flying overhead, and have seen it land in the rec or near the GP surgery several times. Fortunately I've never needed them myself but I know a lot of people who know someone that has, from heart attacks to road crashes to poorly babies in the middle of the night, and what a difference it can make in a rural area where driving A to B usually means going via X, Y and Z.
On Sunday April 27th 2025 I will be taking part in the London Marathon My Way to raise money for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. I'll be walking 26.2 miles around Stourhead woods, aiming to complete it in around 8-9 hours. Walking for charity and raising money for a service that touches so many lives in so many ways will give me an added incentive to finish the full distance however long it takes.
